How to get to Akyaka?

Dalaman Airport

The closest airport to Akyaka is Dalaman, 65 km from the village. If you don't want to take a taxi, you can use buses that pass through Gökova — Akyaka's neighbouring village. Buses are right at the airport exit and leave as they fill up (usually a 10–20 minute wait). They don't enter Akyaka itself, so you need to get off in advance. Take a bus heading to Muğla or Marmaris and tell the driver in advance that you're getting off at Akyaka (the Dörtyol stop). You pay the fare to the driver. You'll be dropped off at the turn to the village, about 4 km from the centre of Akyaka: you can take a taxi, catch a dolmuş, or walk along a beautiful road with views of the gulf.

Bodrum Airport

The distance between Bodrum–Milas Airport and Akyaka is about 100 km. In this case the most convenient option is a pre-booked transfer to Muğla or Gökova, then a bus toward Akyaka. At those stops you can easily catch a dolmuş or an intercity bus, and the remaining drive is short.

Bus

If you're travelling without a car, it's convenient to reach Akyaka from the nearest cities:
- from Muğla (about 28 km), city buses run roughly every half hour with Akyaka as the terminal stop;
- from Marmaris (about 32 km) there is no direct regular service to Akyaka (except summer dolmuşes), but you can take a bus on the Marmaris–Muğla route and get off at the Akyaka entrance.

Taxi

At the airport you can easily book a taxi to Akyaka. In Akyaka itself there are several taxi fleets through which you can also call a car to the airport or for trips around the village, to the kite beach, Dörtyol, Muğla or Marmaris. You can place an order via WhatsApp, including in English:
