Turgut Waterfall

Turgut Waterfall (Turgut Şelalesi) is located in the village of Turgut, in the Orhaniye district, about 25–30 km from Marmaris, on the road towards the Bozburun Peninsula. This green gorge features cascades, natural emerald "baths," and a dense forest of pines, plane trees, and oaks.
A short trail leads from the village to the waterfall — about a 10-minute walk through the forest and along the stream. The path is easy, but can be slippery and rocky in places, so it's better to wear sneakers or sandals with good support. Some sections of the route pass right through shallow water.
The waterfall itself is not very high — the water falls about 3–4 meters into a deep natural pool with cold, turquoise water. A little further downstream, there are several small cascades and pools: some are just deep enough to refresh your ankles, while others are suitable for swimming. In the summer, jeep safaris often bring visitors here, so it can get crowded in the middle of the day; if you want peace and quiet, it's better to come in the morning, before noon.
Access to the waterfall itself is usually free, but at the beginning of the trail and along the road, there are several simple cafes and picnic tables where you can grab a bite to eat, drink tea, or fresh juice. This is not a wild "secret" waterfall, but rather a popular spot for locals and tourists — with a lively atmosphere, icy water, and shady forest, it's a nice place to escape the heat for a couple of hours.
It's worth stopping by as part of a trip from Akyaka to Datça.

What is Azmak?

What does 'slow city' mean?
Akyaka has been part of the international Cittaslow network since 2011. This means a ban on high-rise buildings, a unified architectural style, the absence of chain restaurants and large all-inclusive hotels, and support for local businesses, cuisine, and crafts.
Are the beaches paid?
The city beach and most of the coastline in the center are free; you can come with your own towel. There is a paid entrance to the equipped kite beach. Some hotels and restaurants on the shore have their own beach areas with paid sunbeds, but this is not mandatory.
